Anti-worker politicians in Washington and their corporate donors are striking at the rights of workers. Again. They’re threatening to shut down the National Labor Relations Board, the independent agency that protects workers’ rights, by holding up President Barack Obama’s nominations to the Board. You remember this bill, it makes it a crime to take a picture or video of unsafe, discriminatory or unethical conditions at a place of business in Indiana. April 12 has been designated as a national day of action to stop Congress from dismantling the United States Postal Service. “Save America’s Postal Service” demonstrations will be held outside every U.S Senate office in the country – including the Indianapolis offices of Senator Richard Lugar and Senator Dan Coats. Following the Easter recess, Senators will vote on Senate Bill 1789, legislation that would do more harm than good in returning the U.S. Postal Service to fiscal solvency. If passed, Senate Bill 1789 would put an end to six-day mail delivery within two years, phase out door-to-door mail delivery and still fails to address financial issues that resulted from congressional mandates.
